How to Compare Bulk Prices Correctly
Normalize weights, quantities, freight, and minimums before deciding which offer is cheaper.
Use a common unit
Convert flower to price per pound or ounce, concentrates to price per gram, and packaged items to price per finished unit. A low sticker price can conceal a smaller pack or mandatory case quantity.
Calculate delivered cost
Add shipping, insurance, adult-signature fees, packaging, labeling, testing, payment costs, and expected spoilage. Divide the complete landed amount by sellable units—not merely the number ordered.
Protect margin
Model conservative sell-through and include returns, promotions, taxes, and damaged inventory. A competitive menu needs enough room to absorb ordinary operating costs without relying on every unit selling immediately at full price.
